Here's a pic of my current setup for adult snakes!
I built these cages, they are 3 feet long, 1.25 feet wide (except that bottom one is wider), and 1 foot high. They're made out of shelving material so a little heavier than I'd like but very strong so they can be stacked. The doors are front-opening and there are air holes drilled along the top for circulation. Finally, there's a 1'x1' aluminum plate sealed to the bottom on one side, such that a heat pad can be inserted underneath it from the back. Right now I'm using flexiwatt wired in parallel, with a herpstat to control temps. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND herpstat products! Yes they are expensive but the quality and service is tops!
My herpstat once blew a fuse because someone accidentally plugged a vacuum into it. Even though it was well past the warantee period, when I wrote to ask if they had any advice on fixing it, they offered to fix it for me just for the cost of shipping! That was something I'll always appreciate :)
Overall I like this setup a lot - my main issue with it is right now there's a lot more wires going everywhere than I'd like. I may look into wiring these in series such that each stack only has one plug, rather than 6.
Also I experimented with the doors some - attaching the acrylic directly to the cage is faster, but after using for a while I think the wood frame is far superior. It just fits a lot better and doesn't warp.

Hee hee XD
At this point I actually have a LOT of empty tanks of various sorts, since I have quite a few of the glass aquariums still lying around. (numerous 10 gals, but those are growing in tanks for the babies, plus two 20g longs and one like, 50 gal??)
I actually like to have one or two empty "emergency" tanks. Emergency WHAT I don't know XD I figure if something goes wrong with one of my occupied cages or I decide to rescue a snake or something I'll have options, tho :)
