I decided to take more time creating a background.
I still have tons of issue with blender running out of memory when rendering.
I've also experimented with LOD models for stuff further away.
If everything goes well, I plan to use it for a couple of projects

oh my god, I just looked the addon up and it is AMAZING, wow... Man, really sucks how expensive it is
and yea, particles are a bitch... idk if geometry nodes particles are any more efficient in the RAM department, I didn't test it enough yet to be sure, but it might be something to look into
