Frankfurt had in the middle ages a system of watchtowers on all roads to the city, those towers had the purpose to collect toll from travellers as well as warning the city from approaching enemys. Most of these watchtowers still exist, this here is the Friedberger Warte, the watchtower on the road to Friedberg, it was build in the year 1478 and is today used as a traditional frankfurtian cider restaurant.

I find it endlessley amusing that america's 2 favourite fast-foods are german - the burger and hot-dog/sausage.
this building ads to its name (tho i am aware it will have nothing to do with food burgers, i'm taking comedic licence) the favourite pastime of america also. taking other peoples' money!
