Daleth, the Castaway
"Death would seem like a blessing when you've lived as long as me. I guide the lost to a treasure I myself cannot have."
-Daleth
Another planned addition to my roster I've mentioned in my journal from long ago. Daleth here's based off of
Souvillaine 's character Axel. Of coure, just like all my other characters, Daleth's story is much different from his inspiration.
Daleth came from a world ravaged by a Death Stranding; where the borders between the realm of the living and the dead were completely broken. Not only is he well attuned to the other side to the point of manipulating the Beach's elements and commune with its inhabitants, but he is also a repatriate; able to return to the living world if killed. He is always accompanied by a spectre he affectionately called Sally, who followed him back to the living world when he first repatriated. Together, they play the role of the trickster; Daleth uses his expertise in gun and blade as a smokescreen while his spectre rigs the field with traps and pitfalls, able to pull off some ridiculous and rather silly feats.
His power to manipulate the Beach allows him to levitate and teleport; the latter requiring him to use the aid of his special dagger that doubles as a navigation tool to make his jumps more accurate. Through the Beach's tar, he is able to move things to and from the other side, which is behind his ability to seemingly pull spare equipment out of nowhere. His very presence weakens the border between the living and the dead, allowing supernatural events to occur more easily around him. He is able to see and communicate with ghosts, B.T.s and the undead, and often does services by helping them move on and resolve hauntings and supernatural events.
His personality can be compared to the likes of Cayde-6 and Ace Ventura; an odd, quirky and nonserious exterior hiding vast experience and competence. He never made his origin clear aside from the state of his homeworld; he always changes the story when one asks about his own past. Though judging from his experiences, it can be assumed he has some military and seafaring background. Even the name Daleth is the fourth letter of the Hebrew alphabet, and he assures that it's not his real name.
