Lol... what his captor said is very true, why take a chance if he can avoid it? I'd do that... although it's not exactly a good thing for poor Jonty.
even so, I admire the courage Jonty has for one knowing that he has the chance to lose, if there is a minimal chance of saving his beloved he will take it... I think that those kinds of actions make you a hero. :'3

Well, it is not a special power, if not a feeling, when you really love someone and that person is in danger, you would do anything to save them, right? Well, this is how it works, Jonty is playing an all or nothing, since so little is left of many options, if she fails she will have lost everything that mattered to her, but if she wins, she will save the love of his life.
Is Jonty going to use that spell to his advantage as no one can hurt him without being hurt themselves. Also wouldn’t that technically be cheating as the duel is without magic ? Or would this be like a demon thing where a barrier is formed to cancel any magic which would cancel out the spell in Jonty ?
What a hilariously misguided act of brevado. But Jonty isn't the brightest bulb so I guess that's to be expected. Though why any of them would agree to such a ridiculous offering when, as he pointed out, they already got him would be ridiculous. I've got my talons crossed that none of these infernal hunters are carrying the idiot-ball.

Found this bout 2 years ago and absolutely loved it. The storytelling is amazing. Makes you wish you were a part of that world. Kinda just dive into a fantasy world full of magic and fluffy creatures rather than being stuck in this boring and crazy world.
