True, I kinda sorta like their new design of Lola, my first thought was to keep it kid-friendly..."nowadays."
My second thought was, why not make her curvy again like before.
BUT, the real question is, does Lola have that classical personality again, no longer a goofy and crazy bunny, but a sassy powerful chick? That's what we're all looking for.

I mean, since both are her, I thought it'd be nice for her to be a bit of both. But then again, that would just make her somewhat bipolar. Then again again, she WAS described as "crazy" by Bugs in TLTS, so she won't be THAT off from her character. XD
(but I'm mostly hoping she won't be as bland as people say she was in the first)

I personally don't care about her look and people crying about her not having huge boobs and thighs. Like you I am more concerned about her personality. She was just eye candy in the original and nothing much else and the one in the Looney Tunes Show was annoying and disturbing. If she had the personality of Lola from The New Looney Tunes, I would be on board. She was interesting and funny. Don't need her to be a busty bunny. Just an interesting character. That said the original was never a good idea to begin with and now they are doing it again and it does really look much better.
She had plenty of personality in in the first Space Jam. Sure, she was meant to be sexy and the male character's reactions to her were definitely signs of the time. However, she was more than just eye candy. She was sweet, tough, badass, and could handle herself on the court. The Looney Tunes show took everything that I liked about her personality and ruined it.
Also, the directors commentary on how he's trying to "reflect the authenticity of strong, capable female characters", is super problematic. It just adds to the whole argument that female characters with curvy bodies and revealing clothing can't be strong or badass. That's an overtly sexist and very demeaning sentiment which essentially says attractive women with curvy bodies are nothing more than sex objects or eye candy.
Women can be strong or tough whether they're curvy or not, or if they wear revealing or skin tight clothing.

Ummm...I don't think anyone has ever said that women with sexy bodies can't be strong or badass. I think the problem was always that people always thought that they were the only ones that could be strong and badass that if you weren't some curvy girl with a hot bod you couldn't be attractive or powerful or enticing. Also no offense but I don't know what movie you were watching but she was just eye candy for Bugs to drool over. What personality or character did she have? What did she like? What were her favorite foods? Where did she come from? Who is her type of guy? What could she do besides play basketball? What interactions did she have with the other Looney Tunes? Does she have a sense of humor or a bad temper or a particular quirk? What was she into besides just playing basketball with the team? Heck she barely had any lines in the movie despite being pushed to the front with the others. Lola in The New Looney Tunes could build cars, knew how to rollerskate, was funny, knew how to trick the bad guys, was witty, athletic and knew how to dance. Lola in Space Jam was eye candy for people to drool over. Nothing more. Everyone can see that. Just because she had an attitude didn't make her badass. Nothing she even did made that much of a difference in the movie. They could have cut her and her scenes out and nothing much would have changed. She is fine if you want something to fantasize over but as a proper character, she is a failure and sticks out like a sore thumb. I didn't like Looney Tunes Show Lola either but not for the reasons you do.
I watched Space Jam like 10 times, maybe even more. Lola Bunny was definitely meant to be that bombshell type of character, similar to Jessica Rabbit. Did you miss the scene where she showed up Bugs on the court and says "Don't ever call me doll." That exemplifies her original personality in a nutshell.
All those questions you asked; I don't think those are relevant. That's what the Looney Tunes show was far, in a way. They could've kept some aspects of her original character in the show, just tweaked it for a younger audience. They didn't need to make such a drastic change, in my opinion.
Even if you don't think she had character in the original (which I still thoroughly disagree with), she was still a capable and strong female character. Yes, she was sexualized, but I don't think that takes away from the fact she could really handle herself, and was just as capable as the other male characters.

Honestly, I'm not even surprised that in today's boob-fearing ultra-woke society where fewer and fewer content creators choose not to make all their female characters androgynous as hell, Lola ended up flat as a 10-year-old boy for Space Jam 2. Which is turning out to be a load of ass anyway, if the leaked script is genuine--I was promised LeBron James picking up where Michael Jordan left off, not his son being isekai'd into a WB-themed VRChat server.
