DnD Act 1-7
The next day, our adventurers stepped out of the cozy tavern after a well deserved breakfast. Change was happening in Phandalin and it all began with what transpired the previous night. The townsfolk were a bit on edge to find that their local gang of thieves had shed their red capes and were now serving their town mayor.
For now, Quallion lead the group to the town hall passed the town center to have a talk with Syldar. But before they could enter, two former red robes guarding the building stopped them.
‘’What business do you have here?’’ One of them asked, looking a bit stiff and cautious unlike his friend who looked smug and easy going. Their new roles must have not settled into them yet and they had been used to roughing up the locals for quite a while.
‘’We are here to see Syldar Hallwinter.’’ Announced Quallion, assuredly. It took a few minutes for the guards to understand who he was referring to, but they eventually nodded and let them all pass with Jamie falling a bit behind just to inspect one of the guards and dusting off his leather armour comically, leaving him dumbfounded before she retreated inside with the others.
Syldar was sitting at a large desk shuffling through documents already knee deep in his work. Quallion’s entrance was able to pry his eyes off his paperwork. ‘’Ha, Quallion! Looks like there’s been some recent...changes in town this morning. Halia Thorton came to visit me this morning and let me know what’s been happening. Your recent achievement has kick-started our negotiations but she’s quite difficult and still on the fence about this unification.’’
Quallion remembered that the mayor used his own faith against him yesterday to put him back in his place and come out on top the night prior. ‘’She’s certainly not the charitable type and wouldn’t give away any power she holds without something in exchange. But she’s better off leading Phandalin than some bandit leader.’’
Syldar was now fully invested in the conversation and no longer payed attention to his documents. ‘’I imagine she’d be more open to speak with someone representing the church than one such as I. She did seem to have a good opinion of you.’’ He smiled.
Quallion did’nt know if the mayor had genuinely put in a good word to Syldar or gave him back-handed compliments, but regardless of that, he wiped out the letter he and his group had found in the manor and gave it to the knight. ‘’We found this when we got rid of the bandit leader, you might want to have a look.’’
Sylda opened the letter and read the content;

Iarno
Lord Albrek,
My spies in Neverwinter tell me that strangers are due to arrive in Phandalin. They could be working for the dwarves.
Capture them if you can, kill them if you must, but don't allow them to upset our plans. See that any dwarven maps in their possession are delivered to me with haste.
I'm counting on you, Iarno. Don't disappoint me.

Ash propped himself onto a chair thinking about yesterday’s events, gripping his new glass cane on his lap. Once Syldar had read the letter, Quallion recounted all of the events from yesterday to his associate. Sti-Zix and Jamie just stood in a corner of the room not as invested in the debriefing.
Syldar began ‘’Acording to this, this Iarno guy was hired by someone else to stop those hired by the dwarves. I assume that would be you and I. Furthermore, when you rescued me at the goblin cave up north, we learned that Gundrin was delivered to someone under the name of the Black Spider to Cragmaw Castle. Therefore, we can assume the black spider sent this letter to the leader of the red robes.’’
Quallion crossed his arms eyeing Ash, then back to Syldar ‘’ So...what is our next course of action?’’
The knight paused before answering ‘’You need to find Cragmaw Castle and rescue Gundren. We have no information on its location. I suggest you ask around and pick any work along the way to improve our standing around here. I happen to have an investigation inquiry here; Undead have been spotted at the old owl well north east of Phandalin, it would help our negotiations if we could resolve it.’’ He handed a map to Quallion with the location marked.
Quallion noded and rolled the map and slid it into his bag before he and his companions returned to the town square wondering where to start looking. Sti-Zix walked up to a wooden board wall with various requests nailed onto its surface. Most of the tasks were domestic requests in some form or another;
-Return my lost chickens. (10 Silvers)
-Help me cut wood for the fireplace. (25 Coppers)
-Help requested for sowing the fields (2 Golds)
And so on...
Jamie grabbed the highest paying request found on the board which was a request to drive away orcs that have been spotted on the hills just east of Phandalin. Quallion and Ash agreed and unfurled the map to circle the eastern hills.
They asked around town for the better part of the day hopping to get any leads on where this elusive Cragmaw Castle could be located, but with each individual they interrogated, they accumulated requests that may or may not lead them anywhere close to their target.
Jamie was gething a bit antsy and frustrated following behind Quallion and Ash as they argued about the previous night.
(This is as far as I devoted myself to write down the story for the DnD campain, I'm not a writter and I had some help along the way, but from this point on I'm just gonna post the art. Sorry.)
