Gado Gado was a humanoid type Saucer Beast that serve as the monster of the week in Ep.47 in the anime UFO Robot Grendizer. It's body could be transported in pieces inside Pods and assemble by itself. It would disassemble and reassemble as to avoid projectiles. Its main weapons are the missile spikes on its Shoulders. Interestingly, the color schemes of the Saucer Mode changes to Blue: the Shoulder Shell and Leg plates are the shells of the Saucer mode, and only keeps the red from the plates, with the missile on top. It surprisingly proves to be unharmed by Space Thunder and was a capable fighter: indeed, looking Gado, it almost resembles a wrestler.

As the Vega invaders launch a fleet of pods to Earth (50 in total), Koji Duke and the Makiba Family travel to a campaign trip, almost becoming a race between them. Once there, Koji's mood seems angst, though looking at Hikaru – Goro in a later conversation, seems to imply Koji developing feelings to her, but before Koji could explain the, campsite is attacked by a gang of Bikers: while Koji wants to fight them, Daisuke chooses not to, the two of them having a scuffled that nearly got the latter hit by one of the Bikers. The Bikers ordered them to leave the site which the group does; the Bikers are in fact Vega Agents who had chosen the site for the for the arrival of the Pods which land in the lake. These open up and release robot body parts which assemble into the new Beast, Gado Gado.

Side Note: Vega launch the Beast in Segments inside pods, so they would not be detected by the Space Center, as the next plan of attack involves bombing it.

Later, Koji riding late at night, almost crashes onto a car with two young women in it, he apologies and continues his way, but later encounters the same gang attacking the women; he beats them, but is cornered – the fiends are however scared off by Daisuke and the two women who arrive. The girls later thank Koji for his help.

Later, the Beast begins its missile attack on the base and Umon calls the team for help, though Koji is nowhere to be seeing, been in swimming with the two young girls from before and not responding to his communicator. Daisuke and the others return to the Center in the middle of the Bombardment and launch Grendizer and Marine Spazer: Duke stays protect the base from the projectiles, while Hikaru searches for the site of the launches, which finds in the lake – Koji sees the M-Spazer while traveling with the two girl. Hikaru is shutdown by lasers and crashes, Koji checks on her and she informs of the situation.

Side note 2: in that moment, he over hears Hikaru about her willingness to die (reliving her conversation with Daisuke from some episodes back) which does make Koji monologue how he does like girls of her type. Okay_

As Koji returns to the Center, Grendizer and M-Spazer combine to go underwater where they find the missiles coming out of the lake mud: Duke informs Koji and he launches on the Drill Spazer: he drills under the lake and finds the missile base firing the missile, hitting the beast, though this avoids a direct ram from the D-Spazer and escapes, though in its attempt to escape, its hit by Grendizer's Shoulder Boomerang and Marine Spazer's Blade, making it crash. Gado transforms for the fight but rapidly runs out of Missiles and fights Grendizer hand to hand, much of the fight it demonstrating to be stronger and faster than the Mecha, while disassembling to avoid the projectile attacks and was not harm by Space Thunder. Koji tries to ram Gado once more, but the Beast disassembles again, though loses the components of its right arm. Duke tries to attack with Space Thunder once more, though the Beast disassembles again. This time however, Duke fires Shoulder Boomerangs and Screw Crusher Punch, destroying the beast piece by piece.

Hikaru and Koji land and are picked up by Grendizer, where the two dance in celebration: the latter recognizing his care for both of them and its importance as a team.

Side Note 3: And by Sly Marbo's screaming Flying Roar (Yes!! I did a WH40K/TTS reference, shut the fuck up!!!), did I smack my face when I realized for once the Vega Agents sent to Earth weren't killed, NOR were the two girls Agents themselves – I was expecting them to be villains at the last minute and pilots of the Gado or something, but nope: Baddies walks away, Hoes were clean. My expectations were truly subverted here.
