Dear GayShadowfox,
Ah! So that is what you look like.
You are a good hunter of fox photos. It would bring more artists to your gallery if they knew which photos are public domain and which belong to someone who might not want them used in yiffy art - like my photomorphs, each of which requires a good fox head photo. I do not dare use a fox photo without knowing for sure that it is in the public domain. If it belongs to someone who complains, I would have to remove the art to protect Furaffinity from a copyright lawsuit.
Under U.S. law, any photo made by a US government employee in the course of their official business is automatically in the public domain. There are many many such photos, a few of which you have posted. For example, the excellent photo of a fox at a shipwreck was taken by a US Fish and Wildlife Service employee, and hence is public domain. That means that it can be legally used by any one for any purpose.
Here are some US government agencies, all of which have many fox photos:
U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service
U.S. Bureau of Land Management (part of the U.S. Department of the Interior)
U.S. National Park Service
U.S. National Forest Service) part of the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture)
You can hunt down fox photos from these agencies with the help of Google.
If you identify which photos are public domain and identify their source, other artists will start to look at your gallery as a resource for fox photos that they can use. If you take the photo yourself, please say so, and please say whether others can use it.
Thank you for your consideration.
