Second half of a commission for 8y7-d2j on DA! This time it's a full digital image of Onyx in flight over an ocean and some atolls. This one took a good chunk of time to piece together too. Mainly because I don't often do backgrounds and this is maybe the first or second time I draw a full bodied Transformer AND at an odd angle. XD Challenging, again. There's errors, I know, but it's a few firsts and I'm happy with the results.

Anyhow, Onyx himself was first sketched in pencil, then inked with various pens. Then digitally rendered in Photoshop. The background was completely done digitally using various photo references I pieced together and then used as a guide to paint the final piece. The clouds are a mixture of brushes (and actual cloud brushes). Various textures have also been used on both the background and Onyx himself. I added in the black bars to balance things out a little. Dunno if it worked, but I kind of like the effect.
