Another style experimentation piece featuring my Final Fantasy 14 character, Yoyobani. In game terms, his class is Red Mage, but in character lore terms, he uses skills from the Conjurer and Ninja disciplines to achieve the combination of healing, destructive magic, and elegant swordplay Red Mages are known for. (Yes, I'm aware, it's VERY nerdy.) This story was an idea I had to explore his training as a thief despite it being so long ago in his past.
FF14 has a very serious tone, and trying to bridge that with the more comedic tone I prefer writing my characters with was an interesting challenge. Plus, I really needed the practice on my action scenes. There's a few elements I know I could do better, but I'm happy with how this came out overall!
(And don't let that class ID thing above fool you- I also tried to keep the necessary knowledge of the universe to a minimum, so I hope that helped as well!)
