The Molotov cocktail was invented by and perfected by Finnish nationalist (that's "nationalist" in the "partisan" sense of the word) resistance fighters when they were invaded by the Soviets during the Winter War. In his memoirs, Simo Hayha talked about how Soviet prisoners of war wanted to stay in the custody of the Finns rather be sent back into the clutches of Stalin.
