Cutie Kirby.
If you're wondering why his legs are bent in, it's a result of the MBD he acquired before I adopted him.

it's caused by a lack of calcium in their diet, or the correct UVB lighting, they require special lighting in order to digest calcium in the first place, it can result in star gazing, seizures and deformity, it's awful how many people neglect these basic needs, by the looks of things this poor little fella was rescued before it got much worse, poor wee guy.
Gotcha. We have had a bearded dragon for about 6 years now and I knew of some of the risks that can happen if they don't have the right environment from working at a zoo when I was younger for almost 4 years. We had one then, at the zoo, that had a similar malformation but it was due to being on Newspaper his entire life and not on something like sand or the fake grass turf you can get.
This however seems awful! Poor lil' guy!

He has a little bit of a gaping mouth. The end of his mouth is always slightly parted, but it's not any serious deformity, thankfully. His MBD was actually very bad considering how young he was (no older than 4 or 5 months). I'm just glad I was able to find him before he was given away and most likely bounced from home to home because of his "imperfection".
Thank you though :)

Aw. Shame how some people don't bother to research their new pets before they get them. Or they don't want to spend more on a light fixture than they do on the actual animal. That's why I hate when I see iguanas sold in shops, they never get what they need D:
Good thing you got the little guy in time

Yeah :[ I think iguanas, Burms, retics, and rock pythons should all be sold for much more than they are. I think that's one of the problems. People see this cute little green guy for $15, it's easy to get in over your head. Hell, I've seen Burms go for under $100. It's just seducing these people into buying an animal they can't care for :/
For true. Bunch of people will come in and be all, "OH MAN THIS THING IS BADASS IT'LL GET HUGE!" and buy it, expecting a little iguana to instantly become a large ass one if you just add water. Or get a large, dangerous snake because it'd be fun to watch it eat animals alive. :| Quite a messed up thing.
And dang, an entire reptile apartment? I'm surprised you can even have so many in an apartment, ahaha. The places I've been trying to look were going to actually attempt to charge me for each single small gecko I owned. Some didn't find it a big deal as long as they are in their enclosures, but would start to charge a fee if I have something like an iguana that wanders the house every so often. How'd you manage to get away with it? Ahaha

We actually had to move out in a hurry from our old apartment, so we got lucky. It kind of went like this:
"We have some reptiles. They're all in tanks" (before we got Pete)
"Pay an extra security and you can have whatever you want"
":'D"
We ended up paying $2,100 to move into this apartment, but it was worth it to keep our animals and better yet, expand the collection :]

D: Oh god that's a lot. I guess it does depend on what size you're aiming for though. But I usually spend a lot more on my animals than myself any day, ahaha. :| which sucks sometimes when you spend a couple hundred trying to make an awesome setup just for them to be all obsessed over the most cheap thing you put in there. Like a paper towel tube...or paper towel. :|
How do you control the temperature enough for them in the summer and winter?

We ended up with an EXTREMELY small 1 bedroom apartment, though, which really blows. Hence why we sleep in the livingroom, and Pete owns the bedroom :P We kind of agreed that we've reached our limit with animals a while back, so we only get new additions when someone passes away (which isn't very often, as you can imagine lol). It helps cut back the expenses of new setups when you don't have to buy a new tank. I also spend an average of $30 a week on the animal's food...so yeah. It gets really expensive lol.
The tanks all have thermometers of some kind on them, so I can tell when it's getting too cold for them (it's never really too HOT here, house only gets up to the high 80's MAX). If it does dip to cold, I'll turn on an under-tank heater or buy a higher-wattage bulb, depending on how big the temp drop is. It's actually pretty easy to regulate, and a slight drop in the winter months is good for them anyway. :D

Yeah, sounds like you mostly got larger species though. I figured it out the hard way that some species can be a bit more prolific than necessary when I got some gravid rescue geckos. D:
Gotta admit it's fun to hatch and raise them, but it isn't fun to find them new homes when you're overcrowded.

Both of my beardies always try to eat my lip ring when they see it...they get "that eye" x)
It is very sad...and it's SO common. It's just disappointing. But I am very happy I was able to rescue Kirby before his condition got worse. Unfortunately, lately I've been noticing some deformity in his ribs, as well. I'm thinking in the past he must have leaned against his tank at night, crushing the sides of his ribs. His entire body is pretty compact :/ It is just something that has gotten more and more visable as he's grown.
He still has a healthy appetite, though, and is the friendlier of my two beardies :P
