PERSONALITY:

Scarlet is a sweet, loving dragoness. As a dragonet, she's very cheerful and energetic and loves to play pranks on the elder dragons. She's best friends with Ignitus and Red. At first, she seems to develop a childhood crush on Ignitus, which is unreciprocated because Ignitus is much older than her and he seems to be interested in someone else. But as time goes by, she becomes closer and closer to Red and eventually begins to fall in love with him. She's very straightforward and determined and it seems she is the one who takes the first steps to start a relationship with Red.

As an adult, she is a loving mother and mate. She loves Red and Flame deeply as she's very proud of her son.

BACKSTORY:

Scarlet comes from an ancient noble clan of fire dragons. She grew up alongside Red and his older brother, Ignitus, in the dragon city of Warfang. She has a sister named Kaitlin, a very light, almost pink, red dragoness. Her clan has been known to crossbreed with dragons of other elements, which is why her sister, despite being a fire dragoness, is so light in comparison to her. Scarlet also has unusual green eyes, being supposedly descended from an Earth dragon, as fire dragons usually have red/orange eyes. Her father wants to bring back the "purity" of fire dragons in their bloodline, so he wants both his daughters to marry fire dragons from other clans. Her mother doesn't care much about purity in their bloodline and is more liberal.

She develops an innocent childhood crush on Ignitus, but it's unreciprocated as Ignitus is much older than her. As time goes by, she grows closer to Red and falls in love with him. She supports Red in becoming a Fire guardian as is very proud of him when he finally manages to do so. After spending some time alone, she finally takes the first move and declares her love for him and they become mates. She becomes the mother of Flame a few years later and is very proud of her son. She seems to be really happy with her family, but her happiness wouldn't last long, as the outcast purple dragon, Malefor rose to power and started a war with the dragons.

When Red becomes corrupted by Malefor's evil magic, she runs away with her son, Flame, a child at the time, to protect him. She is completely heartbroken to see her mate and love succumb to darkness. After leaving Flame in a safe place, she disappears from the Dragon Realms and her whereabouts are currently unknown. Red believes she died sometime after and blames himself for it.

So this is my Spyro OC, Scarlet! I've had her for a long time, but never thought about her much until now. Funny thing being also a Wings of Fire fan, I've already associated the "Scarlet" name with an evil character, but I didn't want to change her name just because of Queen Scarlet from the Wings of Fire series. After all, it is such a good name to be wasted like this xD Plus "Red x Scarlet" sounds like a perfect ship lmao Wink/Razz

She's an interesting character and I definitely want to work more on her story. I didn't want to kill her off, so I decided to go with the MIA approach so I can still use her later if I want to. I really want to give her a happy ending, maybe finding Red again years later and knowing the truth about him being manipulated by Malefor and not acting of his own free will. Who knows? For now, it will remain a mystery Wink/Razz

And yes! Kaitlin Shoutfire is actually "Nanny" Shoutfire from "A Hero's Tail" and Ember's mother, cause ever since I first played the game, I always thought she would be Ember's mother. Yes, that means Ember and Flame are cousins. And no, I don't ship Ember and Flame, so you can relax, there'll be no incest here.
