THIS IS AN AU (ALTERNATE UNIVERSE) I MADE WHERE I MIX THE CLASSIC SPYRO WITH THE LEGEND SERIES, IT DOES NOT HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE CANON TLOS UNIVERSE!

PERSONALITY:

As a dragonet, Red was cheerful, energetic, impulsive and competitive. He loved teasing and provoking his older brother, Ignitus, always wanting to win competitions against him to prove himself as being better than him. He could be cocky and a little arrogant at times, but he had a strong sense of justice and wanted to become a great Fire guardian like his father, Helios.

He still retained most of his cheerful personality as a teen, but started to become more mature. He was still impulsive and easy to get irritated and frustrated when things didn't go his way.

As an adult dragon, Red became much calmer, mature and dedicated, having a personality close to his brother, Ignitus. He soon became a figure of respect amongst the dragons of Warfang and was admired by many and he was always willing to do the right thing. He had a strong love for his family and was willing to sacrifice himself to protect them.

After his corruption by Malefor, Red became a sad, depressed dragon as he felt awfully guilty over the things he'd done while under his control. He feels it was his fault that Malefor controlled him and that he should have been stronger to resist becoming a pawn in his evil schemes. But Flame always tries to reassure him, saying that Malefor's magic was too powerful and there was nothing he could have done to prevent it. He now spends his days isolated in a cave, away from the city of Warfang, lamenting the things he'd done while Flame comes to visit him everyday to bring him food and try to cheer him up.


BACKSTORY:

Red grew up in the dragon city of Warfang along with his older brother Ignitus. They always had a kind of sibling rivalry, as both wanted to become Fire guardians when they grow up. Red was infatuated with a fire dragoness from another fire clan named Scarlet, who had been his childhood friend. Red always trained hard to become a Fire guardian like his father and after hard trainings, he finally managed to become one. Despite the sibling rivalry, Red always respected his older brother and had some admiration for him. He meets Scarlet again as an adult dragon and they both fall for each other and they have a son together, whom he names "Flame". Red soon becomes a strong guardian and a respected leader in his village until the rise of Malefor.

Before choosing Cynder to be his pawn on his evil schemes, Malefor corrupted Red with black magic, brainwashing him and transforming him into his servant. As a consequence, Red was banished from the Council of Guardians and Ignitus took his place as the new Fire Guardian. Red then ends up facing the legendary purple dragon, Spyro, who has saved the Dragon Realms from countless villains before and is defeated. When he's defeated by Spyro, he is finally freed from Malefor's control and starts to regret the destruction he'd caused while under the evil dragon's control. Ashamed and filled with guilt, Red chooses to isolate himself in a cave and never come out again. His son, Flame, is the first to forgive him and while he understands how his father feels, he is sad that his father chose to isolate himself from dragonkind instead of earning their trust again, so Flame tries to help his father to forgive himself and move on with his life.

This was my idea of a TLoS Red. I have seen a few depictions of him in the TLoS style, however, it seems everyone makes him a ruthless villain, forgetting about his backstory from Shadow Legacy, where it is revealed that he has been a pawn in the Sorcerer's plans all along and that he was actually a good dragon, who seemed to regret the things he's done while under the Sorcerer's control. Plus the Sorcerer is also an evil purple dragon. Doesn't this sound familiar?

Red is just like Cynder in the classic universe, but people often prefer to depict him as a full-on villain in their TLOS versions of him, which I think it's unfair to his character, so I decided to bring my own version of him (in my own AU universe, of course)

I plan to work more on Red's story since he has become my favorite character from Spyro for a long time and he definitely deserves some more love! I hope we get to see more of him in future games.
