I got bored waiting for dinner at the restaurant, so I drew this comic on my napkin.
For a little explanation: That's me in the first panel. I've been pregnant for 14 weeks, but I'm only 4 weeks pregnant. I joke about the confusing irony, but what it means is that the egg was fertilized, but never developed into a baby, and at the moment I'm well overdue to miscarry. I'll probably need surgery now to remove the egg, since my body is still trying to make it into something more. My husband and I have been taking our minds off of the situation by playing video games all day everyday (I hope that's healthy coping). I knew though that people would have to know what a "blighted ovum" was, and play Dragon Age: Origins to find this funny. Though blighted ovums count for 50% of miscarriages, and 20% of pregnancies end in miscarriage, meaning that 10% of pregnancies have this condition, most people don't seem to know what it is.
