Indeed. I only use 'txt tlk' when I'm joking around. XD The rest of the time I try to be as literate as I possibly can. [I know I'm not perfect; we all make mistakes.] XD

YES!! I admit I screw up occasionally, and leetspeak is cute in moderation and in the right place (though I don't use it myself). But bad grammar bugs me, and "lol" is not punctuation; you can't end every statement with "lol". I use it, but rarely. Gotta kat, a homeless kitty character I use in roleplay dat talks (types) like dios. It's his relaxed streetspeak. Once had 'nother player rail on me about dat... and he used "words" like "r", "u", "ur", etc. When I called him on his, and stated that mine was supposed to be a typed accent, naturally he got quite angry.
