From what I know, this young woman, Citrine, came out to the forbidden desert searching for power. Upon finding this obelisk, she hears a voice in her head offering her the power of the Behemoth, and she accepts and grows. She grows rather more than she expected, hundreds of feet tall, and as she does pulls the obelisk free, discovering it is a gigantic club, the weapon of the Behemoth she now is.
