My arting space, for when I'm being TEH SERIOUS ARTISTE! I'm all tucked in the corner because I'm small, so I fit. =D My desk is in the opposite corner, and the table in between has my printer, misc artbooks, and other random stuff on it. I really don't use my drawing table as much as I should. I'm kind of in the habit of working in my lap because it's easier to flip the sketchbook around that way. The cats like to sleep in my chair. That's Sweetie being a tortie-colored lump.

Ahh, ok. I've always had trouble with this too? It's one reason I do most of my inking by hand. I have more control that way. Now, I've never been able to reconcile the tablet vs. screen hand-eye coordination problem. I just can't do it. I've discovered i CAN ink digitally on my iPad, where I'm working on the same surface my line appears on. To ink on that, I use a hard tipped brush (like the pencil tool) on a very small setting and high opacity. I trace my pencil lines with one thin stroke, and then carefully go over it with more small strokes to build up the line where I want it to be weighted. I actually use this technique when I ink on paper as well. That way it doesn't matter if your first stroke isn't perfectly straight. You just fill it out where you want it.

Well... Not really. I've got a stack of stuff I need to BE inking, and there's no good way for me to show you the actual process...
