I just realized that I haven't posted anything from my second symphony that I finished last year. So here's the third movement, a fleeting Scherzo.
As for the title of the symphony ("The Phoenix"), the symphony has nothing at all to do with the story of the mythical phoenix. Last May, I was writing my symphony and had nearly 100 bars written of the first movement. And then tragedy befell my laptop and sent it crashing to the floor. The hard disk was a write-off. However, I had a week's vacation coming up, so after purchasing my new laptop, I set about re-writing my new symphony. Mercifully, I had my two themes already printed out and I remembered everything. So my symphony was reborn from the ashes, just as the Phoenix was.

Ooh, impressive. I probably wouldn't have figured out it was in 5/8 -- quick complex time meters tend to confuse me. Some time ago I wrote a piece that was in 4/4 and 7/4; it confused my sister (for whom I wrote it). I've also written a 5/4 piece a long time ago.
I'd love to hear the rest.
