Vigilance is one of the few supporting cast members of Team Astray to undergo major development over the course of the series. Introduced during the main plotline, I intend for Vigilance to become the star of his own story arc, in events taking place years after the end of the main Astray storyline.

The tale of Team Astray is essentially broken into three parts. The Astray Origins Saga, The Team Astray Saga, and the Vigilance (or After-Astray) Saga.

Vigilance begins his tale about mid-way through the main Team Astray storyline. When he first shows up, no one really knows where the fuck he came from. Gig HATES all members of the Shinx evolutionary line, so everyone expected the Raichu to eat the poor little guy or something... but it never happens. Eventually everyone just started to react to the Shinx's presence as normal and start treating him as a full fledged member of Team Astray.

It takes several months before anyone finally realizes that Gig was behind the Shinx's appearance all along. He refuses to discuss the boy's origins, but he does eventually admit that he's training him. It's a revelation that shocks pretty much everyone.

Just because he's getting to live doesn't mean that Vigilance's life was easy though. Gig's training was nothing short of extreme... typical to his violent mannerisms and near-berserker fighting style. The Shinx had to learn quickly, else Gig's "training" would quite literally kill him. Gig had chosen his pupil well though... Vigilance adapted swiftly and his power clearly began to grow over time. Yet no matter how grueling the Raichu's tests, the boy's eyes never lost their shimmering glow of child-like innocence.

For reasons I'm not prepared to share, Vigilance would eventually be forced to seek out Team BAO's "Lord Zetta," an extremely powerful Luxray of legendary status, in order to continue his training. His training would continue until the end of the main Astray storyline and onward into an unexplored period of Astray history.

When we next see Vigilance, it is the beginning of his own storyline. We find him evolved into Luxio and having officially begun training on his own, having completed his tutelage under Lord Zetta. And so his new journey begins...
