Some more STRAY HELIX™ work in progress (WIP) collages - of original characters you haven't been exposed to yet.
Apologies for the nudity but I don't think the images will offend anyone (I haven't clothed them yet because they're still in the anatomical construction stages).
Descriptions:
05. Sandii Sharlac Reference Sheet
Sandii Sharlac is Orkesstra Korona's adoptive sister (Orkesstra lost her mother when she was very young and was taken in by Sandii's parents). Sandii is quite different to Orkesstra in that she has a more gentle and nurturing nature (Orkesstra is less reserved in her opinions and has a more attack-first-ask-questions-later mindset).
Sandii is a carcovid with a bias toward natural bio-electrical defences. Carcovids come in a variety of different shapes and sizes, but all share a common genetic ancestry.
06. Eugene Splicer Teaser
Eugene Splicer is the hero(?) in the story of STRAY HELIX™. Catapulted across the galaxy after an incident which saw his body heavily reconstructed, he can't help but become involved with the menagerie of weird and wonderful beings native to the world(s) he finds himself stranded on.
He's also being pursued by Prometheus Integrated Technologies - a company he used to work for as an R&D agent. Prometheus also have held captive the being which gave Eugene a second chance at life - he will do everything in his power to set her free again.
Eugene is physically a human being... except for all the technology and alien tissue that has been used to repair his body.
07. The Thousand Feathers of Atlexis
This drawing dates back to 2007. I guess all the feathers I had to draw on Atlexis put me off finishing this piece, but I will get around to doing it at some point.
Atlexis doesn't come into the STRAY HELIX™ story until a fair bit later - book two in fact! But she's an interesting character and I can foresee that I may want to draw a few pictures of her before book one is over and done.
Atlexis is a quetyoatl. Quetyoatls are snake-like beings with limited gliding abilities offered up by their long feather-lined tails.
I hope to finish some of these over the coming weeks and months.
