Something personal from me. A little idea I've been bouncing around for a while with the theme of transformation as a method of relaxation.
Lina has had a hard few days at work, and needs something to take the edge off. There's no trick and no twist, just a warm story about letting go for a while.

I've done some outlining for longer stories with the same theme, though they'd be much longer works.
As an exploration of dependence and addiction, it could become a story where the character has to balance checking out against life's responsibilities, and how that added stress can reinforce the need to check-out more often and for longer.
As an exploration of taboo and social acceptance, having it be something the character does in private which is then exposed could lead to some interesting narratives where, despite self-medicating not actually affecting their daily life negatively, they unjustly have to prove that to other people who are either overly concerned or actively antagonistic towards it.
It could also simply serve as a background character element in a larger story that doesn't focus on it specifically as part of the plot.
