Surprise! More old stuff, non-pornish for once. I had an idea for a comic to split with Fatpanda about six or seven years ago, maybe more, probably more, I can barely remember my own name these days. A LONG TIME AGO. Then we both got busy and that was that. Maybe someday we'll do something with it. Meanwhile, here's Flo, or rather studies for Flo I did many years ago. Wuf.

Mine too, dammit! That and in-progress shots. It's that peek into the artist's head that I learn from. Wish more folks would do it.
One thing I have noticed: the general level of line quality and even overall finish of people's so-called roughs (yours for instance) are a lot tighter than I ever was. Even these days my sketches tend to be--well--sketchy, loose, noodle-y even. I admire folks who can get so crisp and accurate, so quickly.

Well, any commissioned sketches that are called "Sketches" are usually just for definitions sake. I try and tighten them up and define them as much as I can within a certain time limit. I feel guilty if I don't do as much as I can for what was given >_<. Compared to actual scribbles and sketches I do, I would say the two look nothing a like XD. I should get back in to that.
A little guilt's okay but don't give 'em too much! Otherwise, next thing you know, they'll be moving in. Ugh.
This makes me want to see your sketches, if they're looser than your regular postings, given how tight and volumetric your work is. I still love that crocagator guy. One of the best lizard-men I've yet seen (and he's hot to boot!). I think you cranked that out pretty quickly, yet it was pretty damn sharp.

Haha XD!
The Crocogator is probably closer, but I think it's still kinda overly clean. I'm of the firm belief artists should (and do.. hopefully) draw more than they admit to, and that out of all the things they draw, the majority is less refined and.. for lack of a better word "crap" compared to finished products they post. Overall I know I personally just need to draw more, period! So hopefully I'll get in to a routine and post more scribble practice things.

The Croc boy was pretty tight (great use of grey tones, too!), not that that's a crime.
Draw more? You n' me both! There's a good challenge for the two of us. Though I will say this: living by commercial art in any of its incarnations (concept art, storyboarding, illustration, etc) is hard on the hands and wrists. I finally started feeling fatigue in my drawing hand last year, after 18 years. Soon as I took a break from drawing, things got better (surprise!); now I make sure to take a break from drawing/painting on a regular basis and it seems to keep the doctor at bay. Stretching and working from life helps a lot too (since you're moving around a lot and in different ways than when you work by tablet). So I guess what's happening here is Unka Berb throwing out a note of caution for you. Take care of them hands, they're all you've got!
God I sound like a grandmother sometimes. :P Sorry 'bout that.
I would love to see more of your scribbles, I say again! I'll post more if you do. :D

Indeedy! What did we call that group anyway? I can't remember now. And thank you thank you, sir! I'm experimenting with a cleaner look but have a feeling "messy" is always going to be my byline.
Are you free for a conversation today, say this afternoon? I gots some stuff to show you and gab about (and it pertains to the work you sent me).

Drat! Well then I think I just sent you a dupe. If you know anyone who's got a Mac and is interested in such stuff, send it along, we might just hook someone else on Stanchfield and get 'em to buy both books. Uploading more goodies for ye now. Will stand by on the phone front! I've got a call from 11am to noon, then lunch, then you, sir.
PLEASE let it not be so. I am so done with this bug. BUT IT WON'T QUIT ME! I'm hoping another visit to the doc will give me a sledge to knock the fucker out. I have been taking the liquid snot blaster meds and that's helped.
Glad to hear you're doing not so bad, sir. We talk this weekend if you're gonna be around?
