well I am no melting pro... but basically it involves skimming the vat. You get everything to high melting temperature and skim off all the impurities, leaving only gold. Like if the plastic is less dense then the gold, it will float to the top when heated, so you skim the plastic. Just do the same process until you get the gold by itself.. ( I wouldn't just go do it based off what I say, but thats the basic idea behind it.)
One does it outdoors and at room temperature. Keep the solution basic so no hydrogen cyanide gas is released. Almost all modern gold mining is by a dilute solution of sodium cyanide in water that is circulated through great heaps of crushed ore. Billions of dollars of gold per year is produced near my home, here in central Nevada.
