lol i've never read those books...good read? and yea its one of my favorite pieces and my first colored pencil that looked really well done so i figured it was a fitting icon...though im afraid its alittle depressing lol

They're a parody of the whole fantasy genre, but really clever and interesting too.
Terry Pratchett is the author if you want to look them up. I'd highly recommend them.

Originaly, The parcas was part of the greek mitology. The was 3 rly old womens without eyes that made de web of the destiny. In this web, appears the past and the pressent of every living and dead people. This women help Perseo to kill al big marine monster telling him that he must kill Medusa the Gorgona for becomes the monster in rock.

In the middle ages in Europe, the image of the dead was been changed from the Parca during the 11st century during the Black Death as we know today. It was represented as an skelletone with a black robe and a scythe 'cause the dead judges rich and poor as equal. The scythe (a peasnts`tool) appears as symbol because the Death mows the live as the harvest, the black robe was because the dead is something unknown and mysterious.
