*SIGH* I know. Just... a bit despondent. Amongst a lot of things I think this was the one that left such a bitter taste in my mouth. Planned for a long time, lot of effort went into getting the best entries into the contest, and then they pick the most hackneyed mediocre shit, I don't even get an honorable mention. The entries? This, this, and this. The first, elegant simple very designer piece, very much like this one which gets raves. The second, well shit, VERY unique, excellent composition, and yeah, go ahead and find me something even remotely like it. The third, sold two prints of that for $70 and $125 respectively, and do you know how many pics like this I've tossed in the garbage can? Look at this crap! Blah! I'm there all the time! I know what it can really look like, and this is a goddamn snapshot! Time after time the mediocre crap gets the attention while artistry is ignored. I feel like these judges were rank country music fans who heard Miles Davis (like the "On The Corner" album) for the first time and went, ewww, that's just noise! But that cottage with the vines, gosh that's purdy! *sigh*

Oh, and finally... I've got their number now. If I've made the progress I have in only two years, where will I be in another two? I intend to enter the absolute best generic hackneyed crap they've ever seen, WIN, and then when I go up to get that bloody worthless piece of paper I'll speak up and loudly trash my own work for the crap it is, and then burn the damn thing in front of em.

Oh, and last but not least... a guerrilla art project for sometime this fall.

hehe ive been trying to find some work with a professional studio somewhere close to my house, i have a bit of an edge since my mother knows the owner pretty well and i do have a good ability with a camera...so hoping to do that to afford my massive bill on equipment..

other than that i really want a hasselblad to play around with
