The earth dragon, Cain, is something of an enigma. Though their breed is all but non-existent in our corner of the world, their reputation for being dull, violent, territorial beasts is well known, and well earned. For eons, Cain and his twin traveled together, moving from continent to continent, leaving a trail of annihilation and doom in their wake. Over countless centuries, it began to become clear that the behemoths were not nearly as mindless as previously imagined, the pair proving cautious, cunning and resourceful. Through some unknown rift, the female abandoned the company of her twin, returning back to their homeland as far as anyone knew, leaving Cain to continue his path of destruction and tyranny.
Slowly, his presence seemed to withdraw from the world at large, and though rumors circled of his death through the generations, the great brown would emerge once every so often to eradicate a human city or slay and devour any dragon foolish enough to cross his path.
Though his thirst for wanton destruction seems to have waned through the eons, it's clear that the earth dragon still works towards unknown goals, with unknown motives, removing anything and anyone he perceives as an obstacle, most notably showing extreme prejudice towards studied spellcasters. Though he's settled in the territory of the forest dragon clans on the western continent, he is no ally to their ilk, the clans regarding him with fear and contempt. A being of enormous ego, avoiding the earth dragon at all costs is the most prudent course for any being who values their life.
An amazing raffle piece from the unfathomably talented and skilled

I still cannot believe I was lucky enough to get a piece from one of the coolest artists around. It still makes me grin like an idiot, honestly. The work on the scales, the thickness of his form. That expression. AHHH and it's still the equivalent of a sketch for someone like them. Super grateful for this piece.
