to me, innocence is lost when you realize the world isn't a nice, perky, fairy tale place
its when you grow up that you lose your innocence

To me, innocence is lost when one gains compassion.

and why is that?
compassion can come at any time
say a child of four sees a dog injured on the side of the road and feels compassionate towards it
does that mean the child is no longer innocent?
