Love the atmosphere. Feels like it could be concept art for a movie or something; one of those climactic scenes. Also, a slightly different lighting than what you usually do! I really think your art is improving at a pretty fast pace.
On a critiquey note, maybe next time you could amp up the contrast by making the shadows darker! I think it would make the image much stronger.

Yeah, it does tend to grey out. And finding reference images of that sort of thing is hard. I think you've done a good job with placing the lighting relative to the only light source in the picture (the lamp) so it's really more a matter of deepening/darkening things as they get away from the light. I really like how the light diffuses in the flurry, though.
Belatedly, on a snowflurry note-- did you paint in the flurries, or did you use a filter/blur to get those strokes? They seem a little thin/too regular to convey the amount of snow in the air; slanted as they are, the first impression I actually got was rain before I took a second look. Next time maybe a few solid 'blobs' of snow (like in this picture) interspersed among the strokes would give the flurry a more solid feel?
Just some thoughts, I guess! I love seeing you trying out digital painting; it produces a really different feel from your other work and shows your versatility as an artist!
