2020 was kinda the year for great big mobile suits for me. Building plastic robots is a pretty perfect quarantine hobby.
Anyway, here's the absolutely massive Penelope. I had to get a new display case just to fit it, and even then it takes up most of a shelf. (and soon it'll have to share space with an equally massive Xi Gundam...~)

I have no complaints about the build at all. It was all pretty straightforward, it just took longer because of all the extra stuff you have to build aside from the Gundam. Same with the panel lining, it's not any more difficult, there's just more of it. Panel lining tends to take ages with me since I scribe out lines along the edges of raised surfaces where panel lines should be, but aren't molded in.
Overall, t's a pretty major shelf-space hog, but it sure is impressive!

Thank you! It's definitely got a central place in my collection. It's not the tallest or biggest HGUC, the Psycho Gundam is taller and the Neo Zeong and Dendrobium are bigger, but it's definitely massive, and looms over almost anything else in 1/144 scale. Even without all the armor on, it's as tall as a Master Grade.
If you haven't seen it before, I recommend going here: http://dalong.net/
It's an incredibly useful resource, and a great way to preview kits before you buy them.
