Back in February 2020, I went to DeviantArt's HQ for an Artist in Residency program they were running. I was there for a week to create a piece for them, sit in on meetings with the staff, stream, podcast, and more! It was an incredible experience to see how all of it works from the other side so I made a video showing what my trip was like (it includes a timelapse of this painting)!

The prompt they provided me for my piece was Kindred. I had originally pitched two different ideas. One with wolves running across the night sky and one with a dragon with a bunch of cats hanging out in a forest. Even though we went with the wolves, I still wanted to paint both!
