Hmmm...... my reactions to this are varied.

She looks rather cute and kawaii, like a dolphin humanoid of some kind, given what her mouth shape appears to be. I say the perspective came out really well done on this forward facing head.

The eyes are particularly nice and detailed... but can't decide if I feel all uber warm and fuzzy or "I can't help but worry about what is going on behind those shiney black pools of darkness". Or something peculiar like that. I suppose this is just my usual reaction to pitch black eyes, or nearly so. I see a dark gray iris of sorts on them, but they blend well with the black. Forgive my peculiar reaction to this.

I do like this picture, and feel you've done a good job of doing a foward faceing... face. :# Will be interesting to see other types of heads done in this manner in future portraits or pictures.

It's because she's not human, yet exibiting a human characteristic of a clear emotional look.

it takes time to kinda come to terms with that, or it will always look a little odd, kinda like looking down the barrel of a gun or into the eyes of a predator.
