Unable to fit the entirely of the woman into his stomach, the sea lion nevertheless gulps her down. It's a bit uncomfortable breathing around a set of feet, but experience has taught him that the portion still stretched out in his gullet will follow the rest as digestion takes its course.
It's a big meal for a sea lion not that much larger than his prey and he will bury the bulk of the bulge in the sand. There's no need to attract the attention of further passers-by until he's digested his meal. Only he and his victim know what just happened, and neither is likely to tell anyone about it any time soon.

On the one hand, it really, really shows how important it was to him that he get a human inside him that he's willing to put up with extended throat blockage. But on the other hand, this was a random human he duped into coming to the rescue of another, so. . . Two possible conclusions:
#1: The sea lion has, for whatever reason, a vendetta against humans.
#2: Humans are like crack in the Stregaverse.
My money's on the latter.
