My Trip to Artillery Park. Semovente da 90/53
My first words upon seeing this was "OH MY GOD ITS ITALIAN!" Lets be honest we all give The Kingdom of Italy shit for its overall performance in WWII and that it's some what rightfully deserved. But one place where Italy had a plus in its corner was the Cannons da 90/53 gun which is very comparable to the 8,8cm FLAK 36 (previously posted) and combined on a low profile chassis made for a great Anti-Tank ambush vehicle. However the vehicle was only capable of carrying 8 rounds and the lack of large amounts of Heavy Industry in Italy made the production of the vehicles low at only 30 made and a 1 year production run of 1942 to 1943. By the Invasion of Sicily 24 of the Semoventes were stationed there and after the Armistice the few surfing and left were transfered into the Wehrmacht.
