reminds me of the threat Roran gave to his men during one of the battles (blanking on the one and not going to search as I do not have all of the books to look through them). The threat was if they do not do what he told them to do, they will be fed alive to Saphira.

I want to say it was in Brisingr... I seem to recall it was one of the battles that he was given command, but again, I don't have that book with me to look. But I distinctly remember Roran saying something like that.
