My Trip to Artillery Park. 8,8cm FLAK 36
A gun that needs no introduction. The 8,8cm FlugAbwehrKanone 1936 was one of the most feared peices of artillery in WWII. At first designed as a AAA weapon (like the M2A1 I posted earlier) the "88" was only able to fire HE and Timed Fuzed rounds until special bunker busting rounds were made and designed in 1939 for the invasion of Poland, meaning that the famous story of Rommel deciding to suddenly use them in an Anti-Tank role when faced with Matilda IIs is completely false. One of (if not THE) most famous variant is the 8,8cm KampfWagenKanone 1936 L/56 which would be the main armament on the Tiger break through tank.
