Oi. As my character here, she did her JUST FINE. God forbid that a character isn't done exactly by the apparent "rulebook of design" without any stylization at all. I love Mick's design for sergals but its also perfectly fine if she doesn't look like every other one there is out there. She has just as many fingers and the head shape that I like her to have.
c: thank you.
c: thank you.
I haven't had a very pleasant day complete with a family member having to cross continents for a funeral so I'm going to be a fair bit meaner than usual. Also, I've had to deal with a bit of bullshit lately and you are unfortunately going to receive the culmination of my frustrations rather unfairly, so for that, I apologize in advance.
If you don't plan on depicting the race exactly, if you like the race but want to add on your own little features - Then make your own damn race. If you're not going to honor the original creation, why even bother making one of that race? Imagine a Klingon without the military upbringing, a dragonborn without scales, a transformer that isn't a robot in disguise, what is the purpose when you take away parts of what they are? This creature looks like someone made a half-dragon female version of Tails the Fox, it lacks the brutal appearance that makes a sergal a sergal, or hell, any sort of meaningful connection to the original story that they come from.
This mentality of "It's my style" is bullshit, and it saddens me to see so many sergals in name only. People treat it as some creation of the furry fandom with no aspects other than their appearance, some creature on par with cuntboys or citras, and it's downright criminal.

I apologize for your frustrations over the day, but there's not much that I nor Txin can have done to prevent that. My condolences for the circumstances though.
I do honor them as an interesting creation of Mick's, but that doesn't mean I cant have fun with it myself either. Actually, all those things listed, good on them for they wanted to make something different! Its by no aim of mine to "dishonor" anything at all. Far from it. Mick's artwork and creations are fascinating, it should be an honor that people want to include them in their works, even if they're not all from the same story! Diversity is good!
Hell, the plot I work on with Txin is far from it, and far from anything I've seen worked on before. What matters is being happy with it, at the end of the day. If I don't want or intend her to be menacing, if I'm not happy with that, should I have to make her that way to please others, or should I go with what I myself am happy with having for her?
Even if some people wouldn't quite get it, the fact that we enjoy our characters as their own makes them worth having. They dont have to be perfect for everyone. They.. just have to be what you want. Its not all that serious.. in the end, they're fictional beings.
I'm tempted to shift her over to my own established personal race just to avoid further negativity, because frustration over a fictional character/species, is just kind of silly, honestly..

Goddamn, cry sum moar, will you.
Don't go around taking out your bloody frustrations on random people. It's rude, and it's stuck up to all hell. And the mentality of 'it's my style' isn't bullshit. I don't fucking DRAW Sergals often, and I'm honestly sorry I did if it means having to deal with batshit whiny fans like -yourself-. The goal in a fandom is to encourage others, not make them never want to partake again.
Like I said. I don't draw them often; what the fuck am I supposed to do, e-mail Mick a long apology letter for how much I suck at their design? Chyeah, right, like that's going to happen.
It's a gift for a friend and you're pissing all over it. I hope that makes you feel really damn good inside, you twat. :I *Insert more unnecessary swearing here and more logic as to why exactly you're being a stickler asshole.*
Bugger off. I don't need your bullshit on what was supposed to be a nice gift for a friend of mine. I'm SORRY her head doesn't look like a geometric piece of flatbread like I've seen in YOUR Sergals - and you've successfully pissed her and myself off in pretending like you're the bloody stylist nazi of the goddamn Sergal race.
Have a nice day, and honestly I hope I made it worse, you 'effing dumbtwat.
