For me, Dusk isn't really me, though I think I put a lot of my self and my soul into him. I see him more as a dear friend, or loved one.

My character is totally different from me (in every single trait) and while I did RP as him years ago, I frankly stopped because I would honestly think he would not act like I would make him act in RP sessions.
I see him more as an example, someone to follow, even though he also has flaws and doesn't always make the right choices.

For me, it’s complicated, at first he was my dear imaginary friend in my childhood when I needed him the most, someone who doesn’t judge me and see the best in me despite my flaws and quirks. Overtime, when I became more confident in my personhood, I guess he then became my fursona (there’s just so much of me in him and parts that I look up to in him). I still treat him as if he is own person, though at times our situation becomes one and the same, and my experiences is reflected in him, and his in mine from time to time. Like we live in parallel realities and from time to time we would catch up with one another.
