Chapter 17: Sacrifice.

Beta stands at the desk looking at Wane in a scared look. Beta was now in a situation to protect his family and fight Wane or surrender like a coward. Well Beta was far from the coward type he, he steps away from the desk and stands in front of Wane feeling awfully brave. Beta looks at the cameras and sees that Jon was getting overpowered by Cole. He looks back at Wane and shows his teeth,

Beta- so, this is what you want for the future of the packs? You want to take over and execute us, You already taken out so many dogs, add us to the list! You wolves for so many years have terrorized our family now we are not afraid anymore! We will stand our ground and fight like real dogs, because if you think I am going to let you take over this bridge, and my family you have another thing coming.

Wane- thank you for your testimony Beta, I’ll take it under advisement. But uh I am here to hack your system and turn my base into scrap metal in the Pacific Ocean. I also want to kill another traitor who did not do what he was told. I gave him one assignment, kill Alpha and Britney; he did not want to do that! Instead, he smuggles them in the plane and tells Charlie to sneak them back over here! So I am hacking all security on our base and I will give the order to open fire on the base!

Beta- so your going to kill another one of your own, am I really hearing this right?! You would kill your own kind just because he is different?! You are one dark creature, and you know what I am tired of looking at your face homie, get out of my control room!

Wane- I am not going anywhere Rottweiler, don’t you have family I think in California? A cousin, I hate to have to end him and his family when we are done here.

Beta- You leave Joey out of this, I don’t even know where he lives anyway. I have not talked to him since I was a puppy. He is actually a good Rottweiler so leave him out of this! I am not leaving this room wolf without a fight.

Wane steps forward and agrees. Beta charges for Wane who blocks Beta’s attack and shoves him on the desk. He takes a bite into Beta’s back and hurls him to the back window. Wane savagely approaches Beta and picks him up and tries to strangle Beta! Beta fortunately had the upper strength and broke free from Wane’s grasp. Then Beta tries to go for Wane’s neck but Wane grabs hold of Beta’s head and had him in a headlock! Beta could not move, he was scared that Wane could take his life that very second. Wane looks over the terrified Beta who whines and yelps trying to break free. Wane looks at the monitors and then back at Beta.

Wane- I am only going to tell you this once Rottweiler so listen up! When I release you, you will get up nd you will head for that door and wait downstairs with the others. If you try anything, I mean anything, I will add you to the terminated list Beta. Do you understand me? Beta says nothing, Wane squeezes harder and cracks Beta’s neck!

Wane- DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME?!

Beta- YES ALPHA, PLEASE LET ME GO I SURENDER!

Wane releases Beta and Beta fell on the floor weak and hurting from Wane’s overpowering strength. Beta makes his way to the door and looks over his shoulder,

Beta- you will meet your final match one of these days Wane, I promise you will. I hope I am there to see it to.

Beta leaves the room. Wane smiles and walks over to the desk and grabs the bag he was carrying and drops it on the desk. He had to do everything with his nose and mouth. He took out a foldable keyboard and a laptop and hooked up a cable going into the server system that was setup. Wane hacks the blimp’s system and now was in the base’s network remotely. Wane finally gets in and has eyes on all the cameras back on the base. He pulls up a camera where Jimmy was still tied up; he had his head tilted as he had fallen asleep. Wane looks at him and coughs, ‘what a waste’ he thought to himself. Beta had made it down the stairs and was in the sitting area a dog was unconscious it was a pit bull mix, it was Eta, one of the middle class wolves who apparently tried to stand up to Wane but failed. Beta was now convinced that Wane was a very strong wolf who was immune to pain, for the most part a least. Beta picks up Eta and drags him along to the bridge area gunfire and explosions could still be heard outside. Another plane was taken down and now only two planes remained India and Raymond’s plane. Omega, Delta and Zeta started flying around the two remaining wolf planes and took positions. Raymond had a radar lock and fired a rocket! Omega does a three sixty flip and the rocket misses him and keeps going until it disappears through the dark clouds.

India- you know what is ashamed here, is that we gave you idiots chance after chance and you still wanted to fight I underestimated you dogs I really did, but I think we can call this quits and say you guys won huh, what do you say?

The three dogs fire their machine guns on Raymond’s plane and it loses control. Raymond fortunately had a parachute and drifted down to the spirit of adventure. He hits the tail and rolls down the roof and falls on the open bridge. He gets up limping and makes his way up the bridge and enters inside where he is greeted with surrounding dogs and snarling wolves, he gulps as he smiles nervously.

On the manta jet Alpha regains consciousness and stands up to look for Ralph. Ralph was coming out of a room when Alpha attacks him making Ralph stumble on his back. Alpha jumps on top of him and scratchs and bites his chest and neck then body slams him on the table then forces him off and goes around to pick him up again! Ralph sweeps Alpha’s front legs and he goes crashing on the floor. Ralph jumps on Alpha’s back and bites his neck hard. Then grabs Alpha by the scruff of his neck and squeezes trying to choke him!

Ralph- say goodnight Doberman if Wane won’t kill you I will! Then I will become the new 2nd in command when that Rottweiler is dead! You dogs will be history and Jimmy will be eliminated as well! Give it up boy it’s over!

Alpha- if you think I will sit back and let you and Wane be the new high ranks you must be joking me! I am not going anywhere and neither is Beta! We will stand up to you guys if it’s the last thing we must do! It is time someone put you demons in your place, and it might as well be my family and I! Alpha runs backward with Ralph still wrapped around his neck, Alpha runs into the pipe that knocked him out earlier and kept hitting Ralph on it. Then ducks and quickly runs under the pipe with Ralph smacking his head hard on it and falling out cold on the ground. Ralph was taken care of now sleeping like a baby. Alpha gets back up and heads upstairs and returns to the record room where all the pictures were. He looks through old plans and marked maps of where the traps were located and where the flanking was done. Alpha had the entire plan right in front of him and today from the looks of it was all planned out as well.

Jonathon lays on the couch in pain as Cole frops and breaks several old pictures and and lamps. Cole was determond to make Jonathon snap and hand over the control of the blimp. But Jonathon kept resisting and Cole was now getting furious. He charges for Jonathon and Jonathon kicks him in the growing area! Cole falls to his knees in pain and Jonathon does another blow to Cole’s chest! The window on the back wall was wide open the three dog planes fly by with India chasing them! Omega tells the other two dogs to pull out and return to the hanger. Charlie was sitting in his plane in the hanger when Delta and Zeta returned to the hanger. The dogs got out of their planes and started making their way to the exit. Charlie jumps out of his plane and ran towards the dogs. The dogs snarled as Charlie got closer.

Charlie- relax I am not the bad guy anymore! I quit being evil I switched to your side, I want to help. Maybe we can take down the base once we get the clear to shoot it out of the sky. I could use some of the finest dog pilots. For what it is worth guys I am sorry for what has happened to you you guys should never had been involved with this fight.

They all return to the bridge and wait with the others. Omega flies like a crazy dog through the sky avoiding being taken down by India. India was determined to take Omega out of the sky but so far was failing. He flies over and under the manta base and over and under the spirit of adventure. India was a fine pilot, he had stayed on Omega’s tail hard. When India got close enough he fired his machine gun and Omega dodged the bullets, but he misjudged the final wave and his tail was hit several times. He was losing control; he held his joystick tight and remained in control. Omega knew now he had no time to lose because his plane would lose power soon. He locks face to to face with India and all India did was evil laugh at Omega. Omega was afraid to move his plane started vibrating real hard now which means the engine was running low on fuel and burning on fumes. Black smoke started coming out and Omega was scared!

In the blimp Jonathon and Cole parried with swords, blocking each other’s attacks they moved around the room trying to get one another. Jonathon manages to grab Cole’s sword and swing it out of his hand! Cole runs for his sword and manages to block Jonathon’s blow. Jonathon and Cole approach each other with their swords and make an x, they solute their swords and swing again. Jonathon again catches the sword and this time flings it out the window then hurls Cole over to the window making him fall outside hanging on for dear life.

Cole- Oh my God! Pull me up Muntz, you win ok! I was wrong about you you really are an amazing person and one heck of a fighter I must add, ut please don’t do this you win! Just pull me up and maybe we can come to an understanding, what do you say?

Jonathon looks down at Cole and feels no sympathy for him he steps on one of his hands and Cole hangs on for dear life. Scared and nowhere to go Cole dingles from the window, India and Omega sees this and could not help but watch. This gave Omega the chance to fire on India’s plane. India realized that he was taking damage and chased Omega again.

Jonathon- you know wht is the saddest thing about all of this Cole is that this could have been avoided. But like always you are blinded by vengeance and selfish motivations that you would put your family at risk to achieve your goals. You have made me and my brother suffer for many decades, no more Cole, sorry dude but we are done dealing with your evil. Once I am done with you Wane is the only one left and my pack will surely take him out as well.

Cole- Jonathon, stop and think what you are about to do, I a the only one who can control Wane. If you remove me Wane will be uncontrollable. He will kill your entire family to get revenge for me!I beg you don’t do this!

India’s plane was coming around the corner andJonathon smiles and pushes Cole out the window he falls right into India’s plane destroying the plane and ending Cole and India. Jonathon looks down and sees the the pieces of plane parts falling to the surface. Charlie had walked up and joined Jonathon in a moment of silence. Wane was now the only one left and now the stakes were higher than ever.

In the control room Wane sees that all ten planes were destroyed along with their pilots. He bows his head in sadness as he knew that Cole was also defeated. Wane was now getting desperate to win. He really was not going down without a fight and looks at the camera of Jimmy again and decided it was now time to take down the base. Wane hacks the voice files of all the translator collars and hooks up a cable to his collar. He manages to override his voice with the voice of Fang!

Wane- Attention all animals the manta base is clear, we must destroy this aircraft in order to hide our past. I am giving the all clear to shoot it out of the sky and leave no evidence behind. Good luck Muntz’s dogs, assist the wolves in taking down the base. Yje evil must be wiped from existence, good luck, report back once it is done, Fang out.

Wane hangs up and disconnects his collar from the intercom and goes on loud speaker in the base. Jimmy struggles to break himself free, he screams for help and tries to pull himself free but failed. Jimmy looks around in the big massive room he was in and sees the camera. He knew Wane was watching him. He bares his teeth and sees the red light turn on meaning Wane was now in listening and watching.

Jimmy- ok Wane, I know you can hear me, this has got to be the darkest thing you have ever ever done! You really going to kill me?! I am still a puppy! What have I done to you to make you want to kill me?! I can understand why you did it to Riley, but me?! I have done up to my full potential I give you 110% every mission you assign me! Well I may not perform them to your standards, but at least I can be honest and tell you face to face! Oh and Riley?! He messed several times more than me, but you let him get away with it, but I try to save innocent dogs today and now I am public enemy number one right?!

Wane smiles at the screan and sneers at Jimmy. He was not listening to Jimmy’s rambling, Wane looks at Jimmy with a disgusted look and puts his paw on the talk button,

Wane- Jimmy, I have bailed you out of trouble more times in your year and half life cycle. You are the weakest and dumbest wolf I had ever recruited. Your parents should be ashamed they bred such a wimp like you. You fail to see why you are the enemy, you betrayed me Jimmy. You chose to help those disgusting dogs escape instead of killing them like I asked you to. Not only are you incompetent, but you are incapable of handling tuff jobs and making the right decision. You had one job to do and you failed! So, I hope you talked to the dog lord, because he has another canine coming home.

Wane hangs up and looks out the window. The sky was getting darker as evil was dominating the blimp. Wane looks at the dark sky and talks out loud,

Wane- mom, dad my vengeance is almost complete. Every enemy that was involved with your death will soon be eliminated and I will win this war. I miss you guys very much. I sure hope your new lives are better in dog heaven than it was down here. Wane whines a little.

Back in the loading area the bridge remained opened. Beta and a few dogs rush back to the hanger. Charlie was going to and he stops and looks at the wolf pack. He just now notices that Jimmy was not on board. He looks around rapidly and sees no sign of him!

Charlie- um guys, has anyone seen Jimmy at all since the dog fight? I could have sworn he was with me on the plane. Or went with Wane. Have any of you seen Jimmy?

Connor- No Charlie, he was not seen leaving the hanger when we left, last we saw of Jimmy was when we were on the ground fighting the the dogs. Is it a possibility that Wane tied him up in the base and ordered us to attack the base with Jimmy inside?!

Charlie- Nooo! Hey Beta wait up hold up a sec! I just got word that Jimmy is still aboard that aircraft! Wane wants to destroy the manta base with Jimmy inside! We must fly over there and save him! I will not have Jimmy’s death on my continence! Wane thinks he will be the new Alpha by demonstrating no mercy, well that is not going to happen!

Charlie hops onboard with Beta and the planes fly back out into the dark sky. The other four planes wait in two rows of two. As Beta and Charlie fly to the open hanger at the rear of the giant aircraft.

Charlie- watch out for the exhaust thrusters at the rear of the jet, They will tear your plane to shreds!

Beta manages to avoid getting caught in the line of the engines. He flies upward to make it to the hanger. Charlie opens the door and is about to jump out.

Charlie- Listen to me Rottie! I want you to regroup with the other four planes; I will radio you once I have located Jimmy and ready to leave. We will not lose another Wolf to that psychopath Wane. He will be getting his fight soon enough I promise you that. Alright I’ll see you soon dog thank you for helping me with Jimmy!

Charlie hops onto the base and looks down the big long hallway. He knew where he had to go and started making his way deep inside the base. Charlie starts calling for Jimmy’s name and sniffs the floor for his scent. He sees the door at the far end of the hallway and opens it to head to the lower level. Back on the Blimp Wane received a security breach warning on the aircraft. Wane walks up to the computer and pulls up what where the breaches were being made. Je pulls up the video surveillance archives and did not believe his eyes. He sees Charlie making his wayto the holding room where Jimmy was tied up! Charlie makes it to the holding room and forces the door open. Jimmy looks up to see Charlie come back for him. Charlie runs over to him and tries to figure out how to get Jimmy free. Jimmy is shocked to see that Charlie would be the one to save him. Jimmy was doing his best to break free from the restraints. Charlie found where the latches were and started undoing the latches.

Jimmy- Charlie, I owe you big time. Thank you for coming back for me how did you know I was still trapped on here?

Charlie- well let’s just say I was the only one who was really paying attention and had his eyes opened. Wane was going to kill you today Jimmy. That is why he abandoned you and left the craft emty. Wane is getting ready to give the command to fire on this aircraft. We must head back at once and get you to safety

The two start running back upstairs, Wane opens the security protocalls and locks down all exits to keep them from leaving. An alarm starts sounding and the two sprints faster up the spiral staircase leading back to the main floor. The rear exit was quite a ways so the two canines sprint to the exit. They heard a announcement that all side exits were sealed and locked and the rear was sealing in forty five seconds!

Charlie- Beta! Get to the rear of the aircraft now! Wane is sealing the aircraft up to make sure Jimmy and I don’t escape, HURRY!

Beta breaks from the group and makes his way back to the open bridge of the manta base. He waits as he sees the two wolves sprinting to the exit. The loud speaker of the base started counting down from ten. The door starts rising as Charlie helps Jimmy onto the plane. Jimmy makes it and Charlie falls short and falls back into the manta base. Beta tries to open the door but the door was hardened to withstand an attack. Jimmy howls in sadness as Wane sees the conformation of the security doors sealed he sees Charlie whining and whimpering trying to find a way out. Wane was stunned to see that Charlie would be the one to betray him. Wane gets on the loud speaker and in a shocked voice starts talking,

Wane- Charlie?! How could you! After all we been through all the missions and ruff times, you turn around and stab me in the back! We were best friends, partners, we were supposed to lead those idiot dogs to doom, but you instead go behind my back and you pursue going after Jimmy! He was a punk, a looser a disgrace to the wolf breed. What do you see in that idiot I will never know, because this is sick! You have committed an act of treason and you know what the penalty is for betraying our family. You seen it first hand with Riley! You are sentenced to death Charlie, may you be happy with the choice you made today! You think saving Jimmy was going to justify you doing the right thing? You are the sacrifice, you are giving me your life instead of one who deserves to die, what a waste!

Wane hangs up and gives the order to the dogs as Beta to attack the plane! Beta lands the plane safely in the hanger and helps Jimmy to the rear bridge where everyone else was waiting anxiously. Beta swings the double doors open and makes his way to the wolves and dogs. The other wolves were so happy to see Jimmy in one peace. They all look out to see that the dogs had started firing on the base!

Beta- No, what are you guys doing?! Charlie is locked inside what are you doing?! Cease fire, CEASE FIRE! No they can’t hear me I’ll try and radio them, Beta heard nothing but static on his communicator. He sprints back to the hanger and jumps in his plane, but it was out of gas!

Beta- No, are you kidding me?! I cannot be out of gas, this stupid plane!, Omega, come in, its Beta! Cease fire immediately! Charlie is still trapped inside! Omega can you hear me, its Beta please acknowledge, over. (Nothing but static) OMEGA, IF YOU CAN HEAR ME, PULL BACK TO THE BLIMP ASAP, DO YOU COPY?! (Static)

On the base the lights go out and red bright strobe lights flashes with several alarms and sirens going off. Charlie was surrounded by madness. He knew his time was up. He still looked for ways out, he saw the side exit hatch but a red light was on it, meaning it was locked. Charlie looks at warning screens as he sees the engines and rear thrusters were taking critical damage.

System- Attention all personnel, Security compromised Damage critical in Port engine 1 and rear port thruster. Advise immediate evacuation. Attention, critical damage detected in port engine 1, and rear port thruster, advise immediate evacuation.

Charlie was desperately trying to find a way out and had no luck. Outside the five planes fired on the engines and took out the two port engines. They flew around to the starboard side and started opening fire on the starboard engines. Delta handled the thrusters in the rear; he already took out the port thruster, now he was working on the starboard thruster. Black smoke fills the air as the port engines were completely destroyed and exploded in their compartments. Inside the base alarms everywhere were sounding, Charlie’s hearing was getting muffled because the noise was loud! Then he feels the aircraft start losing altitude. It was falling out of the sky! Wane watches from the blimp as he sees thr trail of black smoke go down beneath the clouds. Charlie opens his communicator line and says his last words to his family,

Charlie- Family, I just want to let you know I won’t be coming home. I am going home to the dog world, but I won’t be missing this world. I just wanted you guys to know that Wane is responsible for what happened today. He hacked the security on the base and hacked your collars to make you think Beta gave the commands to attack. Poor Jimmy was going to be killed today if I hadn’t saved him. Now I am in his place making the sacrifice move to save the kid’s life. Jimmy did not deserve what was coming to him. I personally guarantee you all that Wane will suffer a dark fate when his time comes. You all must stand together and face that monster once and for all. If you don’t he will put fear in your lives forever and control you all down evil paths. I love you all stay safe and look out for each other. I LOVE YOU ALL I LOVE…………..

Then the base crashes into a set of rocks in the middle of the atlantic ocean it explodes and it goes into the air blowing up into multiple chunks and most of it going in the ocean and the main fragments remained on the tiny island!

Fang had flown down to the crash site and the black smoke trail rose in the dark gray sky. Fang bows his head in sadness and rises with a furious look on his face. Charlie was now eliminated and Wane was going down now. He walks up to the biggest fragment of the aircraft the door was on fire but a collar piece was sticking out! It was part of Charlie’s translator collar. The collar was destroyed but Fang held it to his chest and howled sadly multiple times. Fang howled a good fifteen minutes in sadness for the lost of his best friend. He takes the broken collar and climbs back in his plane and starts it up. He looks out into the dark ocean. Lightning could be seen all around Fang. He leaves the wreckage and makes his way back to the sky. He starts searching for the blimp and wanted to board it and kill Wane.

Alpha meanwhile finished with what he was doing in the jet and noticed the giant base was gone. The faded black smoke trail led down to the surface so Alpha knew they took it down. It was dark gray now lighting and thunder filled the environment as Wane was nearby ready for the final battle. Alpha makes his way up the bridge to see everyone crying and sobbing. Alpha tried to get some answers but everyone was in shock. They all heard a plane coming but instead of going to the hanger it flies directly into the holding area where everyone scatters! The pilot swings the door open and jumps out, it was Fang! Fang was furious he wanted Wane’s head for sure now. Alpha asked what happened because he missed the show.

Fang- Oh Alpha, you missed one heck of an adventure out here while you were dealing with Ralph. Wane apparently had Jimmy locked up inside the manta base, and was going to kill him by letting us shoot it dow and have it explode with him inside it. But Charlie found out, saved his life and was terminated for it. I tell you Wane has got to go, he will not stop unless he is put down!

Jimmy- yeah I owe my life to Charlie, if it weren’t for him I probably be where he is right now, the afterlife. So to Charlie for risking his life to save mine, that is a hero if I ever heard of one. Fang throws his helmet in the plane and makes his way to the double doors.

Alpha- sir, you want some help with this task? I mean your going up against a demon you want might help.

Fang- no Alpha you stay here, I got this.

With that he flings open the doors and disappears on the other side. Everyone waits nervously and scared, waiting to find out what happens to Fang.
