One of the anery kenyan sand boas (#2 I think, not Mr. Eff) I talked about earlier. This is how they were in 2004. As you can see, not normal snake locomotion!

Do KSBs have a type IB temperature-dependant sex determination? o: I always thought it was IA with most reptiles...males being produced in lower temperatures females with high.
Heeee, makes me more excited to do my ball python breeding project this autumn. Just hope I don't end up with loopy royals! x)

I've heard of that for lizards but I don't think it's true of snakes? With KSBs their mom is supposed to be able to thermoregulate... but I don't know, maybe strange things happen to gender if temps are wonky enough to cause neurological problems @-@
With corns the eggs aren't temp determined. Temps just determine how quickly they hatch!

Humm, according to this site: "Other reptiles governed by GSD [genotypic sex determination] have a system, similar to one found in birds, with Z and W sex chromosomes. In this case—which governs all snake species—males are the homogametic sex (ZZ) and females are the heterogametic sex (ZW)."
However it goes on to state that some lizards can have GSD but still have their phenotypic gender effected by incubation temperature!
