Boyhood is Brief
We only have a short time from boys to men, or child to adult, to explore all the world has to offer us, be foolish, make mistakes, learn from our mistakes, have goals, pursue goals, assume responsibilities, pretend to be grown ups, fail sometimes, even being wrong and in the wrong, and learn from our failures, and acknowledging when we are in the wrong and strive to be better. But even when we’re adults, it’s never too late to be a child again.

As a child, I felt like I was always holding myself back.
It wasn’t until a friend from my ceramics class told me “sometimes, you need to give yourself permission to do the things you want” and since then I have been taking that to heart. Sure, I still need to be my own parent, but as a parent negotiating with one’s inner child there can be many rewarding experiences and learning opportunities from that.
