I do believe they call that an "Open faced sandwich". I wish I was joking about that. I really do.

In Denmark, we have a literally topless(hue) sandwich called Smørrebrød(literally spread bread, lel). It's essentially a slice of dense brown bread with all manners of toppings; herring, cheese, deviled eggs, tuna or mackerel salad, liver patte, tomato, onion, dill etc. etc.
You pretty much make a coldcut sandwich and pile on whatever you like, with sauces like honey mustard or 'Remoulade', a type of cold mayo sauce with mustard in it.

I grew up with it, it's insanely good, and healthy if done right!

Sorry about going off about this 6 months later, but I saw your surprise at the 'no top piece' and your subsequently thinking it 'depraved' (jokingly of course) below. Figured I'd emphasize that many places in Europe, such as Denmark and Russia, the top piece of bread is taken out of the equation...cause...lets be honest...two pieces of bread is commonly too much bread, and it takes away from the toppings.

its a thing in America too, though not very common. we call it an open-face sandwich, it's not very popular because it's not very portable, so it is usually a last resort when there is little bread XP
