It scales as plot device needs it lol don't think too much about it. In fact it's not so much poisonous as it is corrosive, you see it more often corroding things than actually poisoning anyone 😂

That said I'd love to see an episode with Gosha meeting Haru for the first time and one with the two families meeting, that would hilarious to see! Because yeah.. now that I think about it, I don't think Haru knows that Legoshi's grandpa is a komodo dragon.
