Once a prince, back before he was captured and forced into the intergalactic arenas, Sidus is one of a proud race of traders and businessmen/women. He rose through the arena's ranks quickly, becoming Lightweight champ within a solar year and Middleweight runner-up within five.
His father, upon discovering his son's great success as a combatant, had the weapon pictured custom-forged. Firewire Fury, as it is known, soon elevated him past even heavyweight with the unique ability to carve effortlessly through almost any substance like a white-hot ball bearing through runny butter. He needn't worry about the weapon being stolen, however, as it is biologically and technologically bonded to him, and will reject any wielder other than Sidus.
Sidus, originally named Starz, was an alien I first came up with when I was but a wee tyke, 'bout five or six, and I've been updating him periodically ever since. This is, more or less, his latest incarnation. He wasn't always a prince, at one point being an emperor and even an army general at another. His appearance has altered greatly since day one. (He originally had arms like noodles that I remember, not to mention a star-shaped tattoo on his stomach, which I have since moved to his other shoulder.)
