near the beginning of my game, the team of stealth operatives' chopper gets shot down by the terrorists; as they crash, the group is captured and pulled into torture, to find out who they are, and what they are doing there..
Jason gets his scars while he is tortured by this guy here.
It doesn't take long before jason snaps his neck with his legs, and takes his knife.

it's at the very start when they are heading for the island in the chopper, you have backstory and training sequences before deployment though, but the chopper get's shot down as soon as they enter the perimiter of the island, and they get captured after surviving the crash.
