Early on in Jake's MechWarrior career, while he's still learning the ropes about 'Mech combat, a local terrorist managed to sneak into a Draconis hangar and steal an unprotected Atlas 'Mech. They're on a rather isolated planet, some ways out of the way, a cold planet called Klondike. With nothing but his original training 'Mech to use, an Uller, Jake Pryde came to the city's aid with whatever he could muster.
The battle dragged on for about an hour before Jake finally whittled down the Atlas with nothing but a Clan ER Large Laser, his other weapon out of ammo. This was his last battle in an Uller.

*phew* Come to think of the fluff the wrote in TRO 3025 about the Atlas, claiming that if a single Atlas would fight a battalion of Stingers he'd have to retreat for a little touchup on the paint while only one Stinger would be left and barely able to move ...
Don't wanna imagine what a massacre this big boy would commit among a little vehicle garrison trying to defend a planet in the middle of nowhere.

AW Gwad, I HATE those things, especially when they have IFF jammers!
I remember that one mission... *Shudder*
Three Atlas with IFF jammers, and I had my own Atlas with IFF ontop of it... Talk about a blind fight!
I couldn't tell if I was hitting friend or foe, nor did I know they were even coming until my wingman's wolfhound took a one-hit dive right next to my Awesome.
... Actually, come to think of it, I never completely beat that stage... I kept losing my allied chopper and had to retreat each time.
