Chapter 16: Dogfight.

The planes inch ever so closely to the blimp and Beta looks scared. The lead plane had a loud speaker on it and India’s deep militant voice started talking,

India- So you guys want to fight us, and stand up for yourselves but you all decide to run away like cowards and hide! Our family will overturn this blimp and we will capture you guys one way or another. You dogs better be prepared for a dogfight because we are attacking this aircraft

Beta runs to the hanger and orders the five planes to roll out and head to the skies. One by one the planes come out the opening of the blimp. The wolves all laugh at the dogs trying to look tough and think they have a chance in the fight. The dogs reveal their weapon slots, a cannon and machine guns. The dart guns were removed. Beta had updated the dogs weapons the night before because this was war against dogs and wolves.

Morgan- you little pests couldn’t even out match true canine pilots like us. You dogs try so hard only to be destroyed in the end, what a shame, you idiots could have left clean, and not worry about a battle, but now its personal!

India- ATTACK!!!

Within seconds, the sky fills with gunfire and explosions! The five dogs take point and they rush three of the ten planes in the Alpha class. India was tailing Delta’s plane hard and was about to already knock him out the sky, when Omega started shooting India’s plane. India does a three sixty turn and flies under the blimp to come at a different direction. Delta starts shooting the tail of one of the wolf’s planes, He shot the engine and the plane uncontrollably crashes into the manta base!

Delta- yeah, nice shot Omega way to go, nine more to go come regroup with us we’ll take down this next one I’m tailing!

From the opening of the manta base, the manta jet enters the sky. Cole and Wane look out as the sky was filling with black smoke. Wane smiles as he thought the wolves had the upper paw in this fight. Wane heads down to the bottom floor and Ralph was in the record room. He knew one of the dogs would try and ambush the manta jet.

Wane- Ralph my 2nd in command, I want you to protect this aircraft with your life. Master and I are heading inside the blimp to set up our new order. Today is the final day of the past. Future always usually wins. So the computer and everything is in these brief cases?

Ralph- yep you should be able to hack their system with no problem once you are in. I know Alpha will try and find his way on here. I will protect this aircraft, you and Master just worry about Jonathon. I can do this.

Wane and Cole open the hatch door and step onto the rooftop od the dirigible. They clear blue sky was now turning cloudy and getting dark. Evil was winning this fight and Jon had to act fast. The other dogs stand aside letting Cole enter the blimp. Wane followed up and every canine cowers in fear. Wane looks down at all of them and just chuckles.

Wane- you know what is sad, you dogs could be living a very comfortable life right now. You could be playing, eating treats, and socializing with some of the finest wolves in the world. How much more dogs have to die before the dog species are completely extinct, or rather the pit bull breed. Well where is your control room, my team and I are taking over this aircraft.

Fang- Your not laying a paw on the control room Wane, its over surrender now and we will spare your life.

Wane makes his way to Fang, Fang looks in Wane’s evil eyes not afraid of what was to come next. Wane grabs Fang and flings him into the wall knocking him out! He looks at the dogs and they pointed to the stairwell in the hallway. Wane stares at all of them and makes his way to the hallway.

Meanwhile, Outside was a full on war zone. Explosions and gunfire fills the air as the wolves and dogs fight each other off. Charlie flipped and dodged several missiles coming right for his plane. Britney at the Gunmen’s seat fired the machine gun taking out two more planes. The two planes crashed into each other because the first plane Britney hit, she hit the engine. Alpha spots the manta jet on top of the blimp. He knew Wane and Cole had landed, Alpha tells Charlie to land on top of the blimp so he can go and take out the jet. Britney continues firing; her hearing started getting muffled because of all the gunfire noise. Charlie almost was taken out by a red plane with a skull emblem on the tail.

Charlie- that stupid India, that fool almost killed us! Alright you two get out of the plane, if I get taken down I don’t want you two onboard! Charlie flies up to the roof of the blimp dodging rockets and gunfire. Charlie touches down and let’s Britney and Alpha out the plane. Charlie lifts back up in the air and enters the madness again. Alpha takes Britney’s paw and kisses it,

Alpha- I must secure the jet my love, I will rejoin you when I am done here. We will win this war, I promise you. This has been a long time coming, that I never thought we would ever face.

The two look out and watch the battle with ll the remaining planes. Three wolf planes were down and seven remain. The dog pilots were a little more skilled at flying and performing flanking maneuvers. Britney turns to Alpha and grabs his paw, she wanted to walk with him back to the blimp. The two Dobermans make onboard the blimp and all the wolves and dogs look at them shockingly.

Alpha- you guys made the right choice, you chose to switch sides and continue your lives, whereas your Alpha class friends, I don’t think they will be joining us when this is all over. But with you guys here we are ok. Now I have to go and check on something I will return once I capture the jet.

Dug- Alpha, that evil man and Wane had taken over the blimp, Jon is unaware that they had breached our home! Wane had made his way to the control room!

Beta- I’ll go and take care of that wolf. I am a Rottweiler I am born ready; I am strong and that fool won’t take over our house I’ll deal with him, Alpha you go check out their aircraft.

Beta turns and heads for the double doors leading to the museum. Alpha tells everyone to remain calm and keep an ear out for radio contacts. Alpha turns to head back outside and make his way to the jet.

In the plane battle however, The dogs were all surrounded by wolves. The wolves had radar lock on the four dog planes. Omega does a roll and slides through the small gap, and flies out into the sky. One of the wolves breaks from his group and chases Omega through the sky. The wolf fires his machine gun, rounds go flying in the sky missing Omega’s plane. The mata base and the blimp was no longer visible in Omega’s rear view mirror.

Omega- oh no, I don’t want to go to far I’ll lose tabs on the blimp, but this idiot keeps chasing me! You know what I had enough of this egghead!

Omega does a flip and comes back right side up facing the way he came from. The wolf was facing him dead on, Omega had radar locked and put his paw over the fire button of a rocket launcher. He presses and the rocket destroyed the plane with the wolf inside it. Omega watches as the remains collide to the surface and disappear in the clouds below. Omega looks around and realizes he was nowhere in sight of the action. He accelerates in the direction from where he originally came from and kept his eyes and ears open for explosions or gunfire. He heard nothing but the sound coming from the wind and his own plane. He kept his cool and pressed on. Finally, after ten minutes of flying Omega can’t believe his ears, he spots the rear of the giant base with the blimp next to it, in the middle he sees the remaining planes fighting in the air. Omega takes point and dlanks from the north east.

On the blimp, poor Beta was nervous, this Rottweiler had never been afraid of anything, until now, he was terrified of Wane, but still had an ego thanking he could take him down. Beta had not spotted Wane and was even more nervous, where could he be? Beta approaches the control room and opens the door with his nose. Beta sniffs the floor and sees the room was empty. This was a good opportunity to secure the room before Wane had the chance to.

Alpha on the other hand, was about to breach the jet. He stands outside the aircraft and opens the hatch door. Alpha climbs inside and enters the main sitting area. The door off to his left led to the cockpit. Alpha looks around and carefully sniffs the floor for any sign of wolf or if Cole was hiding. There was a small room straight ahead leading to a meeting room. Alpha looks around and saw many past dog leaders, with an x going through them all. Next to the group of deceased dogs was a picture of Riley with an x going through his picture and read below: Status: Deceased, 5 years old, species: Grey wolf: Gender: Male. Alpha stares at him and tears up. He puts his forehead on the picture and closes his eyes. He puts his paw on him as well. Next to Riley was Burns. Alpha slowly walks up to Burns and sees an x going through it, below read: Status: Deceased, Species: Dog, Breed: German Shepherd, Age (Before death) 5 years old, Gender: Male. Alpha cries and sobs at the sight of Burns being on the enemies wall. Now Alpha was sure that Cole and Wane were responsible for Burns death and Alpha was going to seek vengeance on Wane. He leaves the room and makes his way back in the sitting area. He still hears the muffled sound of Planes fighting in the sky and explosions. He sees the door leading to the lower levels of the jet. He makes his way to the door. Alpha opens the door with his nose, and makes his way down the stairs. He heads to the bottom floor and opens a single door at the bottom. He enters the room which had a ton of computers and files laying around. He carefully scans the room and did not like what he saw.

Meanwhile, outside there were only four planes left. The dogs had held their ground trying to keep the remaining wolves at bay. India was furious. He was getting desperate and decides to fly around the spirit of adventure and try and flank the dogs. They start firing again and Omega flips and rolls in 350 form avoiding oncoming attacks. Omega had been promoted to ring leader because of his impeccable flying skills. He dodges more oncoming rockets and machine guns and manages to flank behind one of the other wolves. Omega fires his machine gun shooting at the tail and then the engine of the plane in front of him, causing the plane to crash on the side of the manta base. Seven planes down, three more remain. Omega regroups with Delta, upsilon and zeta. They each line up two by two and are ready to take out the remaining threats.

Inside the blimp, Jon searches the second floor open living room area and sees Cole come up the stairs. Jon and Cole locked eyes on each other. Cole enters the living area and Jonathon stands ready to face his enemy.

Cole- you know what’s sad Muntz? Is the fact that you had to involve yourself in a war that was never yours to begin with? You put yourself in the middle and now you made this personal. I am so disappointed in you, I see arrogance and stubbornness runs in your family cadet, and I stand before you to proudly tell you I am taking this aircraft from you. You are not worthy of this aircraft. Your brother spent his entire life taking everything from me, I am taking this blimp! I say I earned this aircraft. After all the years of him taking all the credit and stealing my recognition is all over! You can end this peacefully or bloody, either way You and your mutts are done! I win! Wane will set up a new order and any dog that is not worthy, will be removed from the pack…..permanently.

Jon stands looking at Cole with a angry grin and was now ready to put the past in its place. He puts his hand on his chin and scratches it,

Jonathon- you know what’s bad out of all of this, is the fact that you took Charles Muntz out of the hall of Fame, you took his dignity and his livelihood, You took the greatest treasure from South America, and you ruined it! That I cannot forgive you for that! You and I have unfinished business Cole! He stands ready to fight. Cole lunges towards Jonathon. Jonathon’s glasses fall on the floor as He falls back on the couch. Cole and Jonathon start exchanging punches and blows to the chest and stomach. Cole grabs Jonathon and flings him over the couch. Cole grabs Jon again and hurls him into a china set breaking the cabinet and china plates falling all over the ground. Cole flings an in-table and the lamp goes flying to the wall. The living room was getting torn up as Cole paces savagely towards Jonathon, who was bruised up and hurting. Cole grabs him, Jon grabs Cole’s arm and flung him to a picture breaking it and the frame falls on the floor. Jonathon does a blow to the face as Cole flies into a bookshelf books fell all over him and Jonathon paces to him! Cole trips and males Jonathon fall as Cole jumps up and runs back downstairs! Jonathon finds his glasses and puts them back on so he could see. He gets up and chases Cole downstairs!

Alpha scans the room and finds nothing out of the ordinary, he was about to leave when he hears a faint sound coming from the rear of the room. He backs down and re enters the room and sniffs the air. He hears the noise again and now was on alert. His docked tail stands straightup and his eyes fixed on the dark area of the room. Alpha slowly makes his way to the the corner and is greeted with a bang on the head! A stick had come down and hit him hard on the head! He yelps then fell to the floor! Ralph comes out from the corner and evil laughs at Alpha,

Ralph- ah, I got to say Doberman, you are so predictable, You really rely on your senses to much, that’s how you get in trouble.

Alpha- You! I should have known you would be the one to guard this jet, where is Wane?! I have unfinished business with that wolf! He has hurt my family long enough and I want him brought to justice!

Ralph- You really are blind, I really don’t understand you dogs, and they say we are your ancestors?! That you are the mighty descendants of the wolf? WRONG! You share our instincts, but you could never be like us! We will take over the blimp and Wane and I will establish a new order of command. Any one of your dogs who refuse will be killed, and the wolves will slowly overpower the dogs. This was always the plan Alpha. Today was the perfect day to finally fulfill our our duty, and complete the lifetime mission.

Alpha stands up and shows his teeth, he does a mean snarl at Ralph and backs Ralph into the open. His dialted gold-reddish eyes stares into Ralph’s hassle eyes, Alpha charges at Ralph pinning him to the ground. Alpha starts clawing at his side and ripping small bits of fur out of Ralph. Ralph grabs hold of Alpha’s leg and get’s Alpha in a headlock! Ralph evil laughs as he nips Alpha’s neck several times. Alpha could not break free, Ralph had complete control of his head! Alpha by some miracle breaks free from Ralph’s headlock and takes a bite into his back! Ralph yelps and Ralph turns to run, Alpha not paying attention runs right into a low beam pipe and falls to the ground unconscious!

Everyone was in trouble now, outside the dogs were surround by the remaining planes. Omega could not break free from this one. Jonathon was now cornered by Cole who dangerously circles him and Jonathon becomes desperate for help. Alpha was knocked out by Ralph who proudly declares winner of their battle. Beta in the control room watches everything and then a loud bang at the door. Beta ignores it and continues working. The next second the door flies open and Wane enters the room. Beta turns and sees Wane approaching the desk, he had a evil grin on his face then said to Beta,

Wane- Checkmate brother.
