I’m starting a D&D campaign with some friends and I’ve decided to play a Lizardfolk druid. He is soft twink scaleboi >w<
He’s modeled after a green tree monitor so he’s more agile and less heavily-scaled. I put Joker’s dagger in his hand as a placeholder and never changed it apparently so that’s why that looks so out of place. I’ll.. *probably* fix that later
So I definitely wrote his backstory drunk last night. I have no idea if it’s good or even makes sense, I’m just gonna post it here without re-reading it. So just know you take your fate into your own hands if you decide to read it. I apologize in advance.

Jyuto was born feeble, thin and smooth-skinned. As far as his tribe, and lizardfolk in general would be concerned, he was utterly useless and certainly doomed to be eaten or simply wither away. Despite his apparent disadvantages, he managed to live long enough to be traded over to slavers around the age of 5. The traits of frailty that made him undesirable as a productive member of lizardfolk society made him very desirable among other humanoids of particular tastes. And thus, Jyuto was handed over for a couple elk carcasses.
He remained in the filthy slaver wagon for months, crammed in with rising numbers of fresh orphans of various races- some kidnapped, some willingly handed over like Jyuto. It was somewhere in wilds of the Swordcoast that he was finally able to slip his captors. He lived for some time scraping by in the woods, purely on lizard instinct and hellbent self-preservation. He was eventually taken in by a tribe of elf druids, where he learned his craft and at least two more emotions.
[insert events that lead to meeting up with party in Waterdeep]
TLDR: Scrawny lizard boi is rejected by his strength-based society and is evaluated as less-valuable than elk meat. Gets traded for said elk meat to Foster’s Slaver Wagon for Humanoid Trafficking. Manages to escape to the land of secluded Elven cynical hippies. Learns valuable lessons along the way regarding empathy (sort of), cultural awareness (sort of) and metaphors (sort of.)*
*Masters none of these things but is doing his best. Lizardfolk can only cobble together semblances of mammalian emotions and wordplay. But he actually cares about you. No, really.
