A roc for the mythical birds project. I wanted to illustrate the size of my roc’s with a poor young hippogriff that strayed too far away from the herd.

I imagine they swoop down on larger prey with incredible force. Knocking them over, breaking bones and causing internal injuries. They only target lone wanderers and stragglers though. As they’re vulnerable on the ground and it can be an effort to get back in the air again.
